It’s about time to learn a new system. Next on the table is Longstreet Attacks published by Revolution Games and designed by Hermann Luttman. Using the chit driven ‘Blind Swords’ system, it is a design simulating the second day of fighting at Gettysburg along the Union’s left flank.
Considering the rules were rather text heavy, it took me a moment to warm up to what was being written. At first glance it seems more complex than it is, but once I set up the first scenario, The Round Tops, it all came together.
In the below video, I attempt to show how the system works, the sequence of play and how combat works. It is by no means exhaustive but a step in the right direction. My preliminary thoughts are extremely positive and I am eager to explore the system through the larger setups.
